Adding your own comments

We will be delighted if readers of this blog wish to add comments on posts made here.

However, in an attempt to prevent us all being washed away in a flood of spam, I’ve put a few small hurdles in the way; these will make your first post (only) take a little longer than usual.

  • Firstly, you can only post comments if you first Register with the site. This is a very short process, but it allows us to confirm that you have a legitimate email address.
  • Secondly your first (and only your first) post will be moderated, so will suffer a delay that depends on how quickly I deal with site management; I will endeavour to keep this to less than 24 hours.

After your first post, further comments you make will appear on the site immediately; but you must be logged in to post. As you post a comment you can also choose to receive email notifications of other comments that are posted to that entry.

Finally, the system is set to send a comment to me for moderation if it contains four or more hyperlinks. (A common characteristic of comment spam is a large number of links.) You can still put a lot of links in a comment if you feel it is relevant to do so, but your posting will be delayed.
